The ASEAN Guideline on the Implementation of the Non-Punishment Principle for Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Persons, ASEAN Non-Punishment Guideline was launched in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia. The guideline marked a pivotal advancement in ASEAN's collective commitment to safeguard the rights of victims and enhancing the effectiveness of counter measures to trafficking throughout the ASEAN region.
Brunei Darussalam's delegation was led by Awang Haji Azree bin Hj Abd Manaf, Assistant Commissioner of Police as the Chairman of the Working Committee on Trafficking in Persons. Brunei Darussalam has implemented all 15 guidelines in the ASEAN Non-Punishment Guideline, demonstrating the nation's strong commitment in integrating this principle. Also held was a discussion session on the strategies and implementation of the guideline apart from identifying potential activities to be conducted regionally for the guideline's implementation.
